We are proud to that Christiana Hospital, Wilmington Hospital, our Ambulatory Services, and HomeHealth have all received ANCC Magnet Recognition(r).PRIMARY FUNCTION:Responsible for diagnosis coding and resolving account edits.PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Diagnosis coding for professional fee services.Accesses assigned edits via a worklist.Assesses reason for edit and initiates appropriate update in the billing system to resolve.Reviews medical records for coding accuracy.Meets departmental goals with regards coding quota and physician account holds.Communicates with other departments.Performs assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and practices; reports to supervisor, in a timely manner, any unsafe activities, conditions, hazards, or safety violations that may cause injury to oneself, other employees, patients and visitors.Performs other related duties as required.SCOPE, PURPOSE, AND FREQUENCY OF CONTACTS:Frequent contact with other physician billing team members and physician office staff.DIRECTION/SUPERVISION OF OTHERS:NoneDIRECTION/SUPERVISION RECEIVED:Billing Manager and Operations CoordinatorEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:High school graduate or equivalent, Associates degree preferred.3-5 years physician billing/coding experience preferably in a computerized physician billing department or large physician group practice.Certified Professional Coder (CPC) credentials required.Experience coding professional services for Radiology, Cardiology, Neurology and other specialties.Christianacare Offers:Full Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, etc.403(b) with company matchGenerous paid time offIncredible Work/Life benefits including annual membership to care.com, access to backup care services for dependents through Care@Work, retirement planning services, financial coaching, fitness and wellness reimbursement, and great discounts through several vendors for hotels, rental cars, theme parks, shows, sporting events, movie tickets and much more!
