We are seeking a dynamic, innovative, and hands-on Director of Sales and Marketing who embodies the Aloft brand and is driven to connect with the modern, mobile, and design-conscious guest.
As Director of Sales and Marketing, you will lead the development and execution of strategic sales plans to maximize room night revenue, market penetration, and brand visibility. This role is more than sales, it’s about creating buzz, building community partnerships, and curating the right business mix to keep Aloft ahead of the pack.
Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and Execute Sales Strategy:
• Design and implement comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to meet or exceed revenue goals across corporate, group, leisure, and transient segments.
Lead Generation and Conversion:
• Actively manage and pursue group leads through platforms like Cvent, meeting broker networks, and third-party event planners.
• Drive wedding, leisure, and sports team bookings through targeted outreach, relationship building, and participation in industry events.
• Respond promptly and creatively to all inbound group RFPs and inquiries.
Outside Sales and Prospecting:
• Conduct outside sales calls, site tours, and participate in networking events to cultivate local business relationships and source new accounts.
• Prospect and qualify new business across verticals that align with the Aloft customer profile, especially within the tech, creative, and startup sectors.
Brand-Aligned Marketing & Social Engagement:
• Lead localized social media marketing campaigns and collaborate on property-specific content that reflects Aloft’s unique voice.
• Support promotional partnerships, influencer engagement, and event marketing that enhance the hotel’s visibility in the community.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
• Partner closely with the General Manager and Revenue Management team to ensure alignment on pricing, forecasting, and channel strategies.
• Work with Marriott marketing platforms to optimize digital presence and booking engine performance.
Team Leadership:
• Train, mentor, and energize the sales team to think innovatively and execute tactically.
• Ensure all activities reflect brand standards and contribute to an upbeat, connected, and guest-forward hotel culture.
Qualifications:
• Prior Sales Experience, preferably in the Austin market.
• Prior experience with Marriott is desirable.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to analyze financial and competitive data to make informed decisions.
• Prior experience leading, motivating, and managing successful sales teams.
